Arne Bercher tells me that loess gives acidic backbone and volcanic gives creaminess. The wine gets extra time in tank, on lees, after ageing in barrel. Persistent, long and pulsing with electric energy. The balance here is perfect. The fruit is ripe but chiselled, long and focused into a sine curve. The barely smoky oak carves relief into flavours."
